Sources

Public evidence, with its origin still attached.

Memoir combines several independent public sources instead of turning one provider into a universal verdict. Each returned observation keeps its source, retrieval time, relationship to the address, confidence or verification level, and relevant limitations.

Blockscout public APIs

Memoir requests Ethereum and Base address information, transactions, token transfers, selected internal calls and logs, balances, holdings, and public address labels from configured Blockscout instances.

Boundary: public indexes can lag, omit channels, rate-limit, change schemas, or block browser requests. A failed index is unavailable—not evidence of inactivity.

Public intelligence

SourceWhat Memoir recordsWhat it cannot prove
OpenSanctionsExact EVM wallet matches from a dated, bundled sanctions snapshotThe snapshot can become stale; a source designation is not Memoir's independent identity verification.
GoPlusProvider-reported malicious-address flagsA provider flag is not a court finding or universal fraud determination.
TRM public sanctions screeningWhether that screening source returned a sanctions matchA clear response covers only that source at that time.
SourcifyVerified-source correspondence and bounded function-signature candidatesVerified source code is not proof that a contract is safe.
Blockscout labelsPublic names and tags returned by the configured indexCommunity or index labels can be outdated, disputed, or incomplete.

Onchain protocol state

Memoir uses bounded public GraphQL, JSON-RPC, API, and direct contract reads for admitted Aave, Morpho, Compound, Uniswap, Aerodrome, Lido, and selected liquid-staking state. Canonical deployments and exact contract checks are preferred over symbol or interface resemblance.

Boundary: protocol coverage is adapter-specific and point-in-time. Staking wrappers, custody, new deployments, alternate factories, unsupported protocol versions, and positions outside discovery bounds can remain unknown.

Local deterministic signals

Some signals are calculated in the browser from already loaded evidence—for example observed concentration, repeated patterns, failure rates, or direct per-asset flows. These metrics cite their input records and can be reproduced from the same snapshot.

A metric describes the loaded evidence. It does not independently establish identity, intent, illegality, ownership, or activity outside the stated coverage.

Source licensing and freshness

Memoir code is Apache-2.0, but third-party data keeps its own terms. The bundled OpenSanctions subset is separately licensed under CC BY-NC 4.0; commercial deployments must obtain an appropriate license or omit or replace that data asset.

Runtime results record when they were observed. Bundled datasets record their source version and generation time. See coverage states before interpreting a missing result.
